The 2026-2027 QMJHL season is a special season in Eagles history, as the club reaches 30 years in the League since the relocation of the Granby Preds at the conclusion of the 1996-1997 season. This detail might be noticed, as the club unveiled a 30th anniversary crest, center-ice logo and also a strong will to finally win the Gilles-Courteau Trophy this season. Expectations are high, as they acquired top talent through the summer, such as Cole Chandler, Elias Schneider, star goaltender Lucas Beckman, star forward Liam Lefebvre, Alonso Gosselin and Maxim Schäfer. The Eagles are in for a memorable run, after their 2020 hopes were crush by the Covid pandemic, which ended league activities and cancelled playoffs back then. They have a chance to not only win their first Jean Rougeau Trophy, awarded to the regular season champions, but also their potential first playoffs finals appearance and potential first Gilles Courteau trophy, which would also give them a first opportunity to appear at the Memorial Cup tournament. The Eagles haven't gotten past the semi finals, which they reached only twice in team history (2006-2007 and 2023-2024)
